Challenge
To create a custom Travel and Tours website with booking, inquiry forms, and automatic service quotations. This was my second WordPress project, built from scratch in 2017 to meet the client's specific needs.
The site includes 24 pages with booking and inquiry forms, a pricing quotation display, and a thank you page. The client also wanted the site optimized for Google search.
As a novice in 2017, I faced challenges due to my limited web development and graphic design skills. The project's complexity required a detailed and process-oriented approach.
Solution
I invested significant time in researching the business, learning through tutorials, and coding to deliver this project. Countless productive days and sleepless nights went into its completion.
Although I don't typically offer SEO services, the client paid extra for on-page SEO, site speed, and mobile optimization. I also recommended using Google Ads and Facebook marketing to drive traffic.
I'm proud to say this is one of my top-performing and most user-friendly sites. It ranks organically on the first page of Google (5th spot) for its niche and location, with all pages highly optimized.
Details about the project
This project involved creating the most pages I've ever made for a website. While some pages/posts shared structural similarities, the content was diverse. I also contributed to some of the content and graphics.
Key highlights include on-page SEO, site speed, and mobile optimization. Minimal CSS customizations were made. Notable features are the conditional forms and the pricing quotation, for which I sought help from senior developers due to its complexity.
The website has largely maintained its original look since 2017, with occasional updates and minor adjustments based on client requests. New pages, such as the Ferry Booking and Vehicle Rentals pages, were added recently. I perform maintenance every three months, including updating plugins, WordPress, PHP, and the parent theme.
Note: This content was written in 2020. As of 2024, the site has undergone major renovations and is now a full-fledged e-commerce site. I stopped providing services to HRI Tours in 2021 due to career commitments.

The website www.boholcebutours.com is evidently seen as the inspiration to some very competitive up and coming rivals.
